Pamela returned to her native Ireland in 2008, having lived in the UK since 1985. She has spent most of her working life in communications, PR and journalism. Pamela was founding director (2000-2008) of Jo´s Trust, a charity dedicated to women and their families affected by pre-cancer and cervical and through her commitment and passion, Jo´s Trust is acknowledged now as an important resource for women affected by cervical cancer by healthcare professionals, a ´lifeline´ by those who contact it for support and by politicians as a successful campaigner for change in cervical cancer care.

Pamela represented cervical cancer on several national committees, including the National Cancer Research Network (NCRN) and was a lay member of the NCRI´s Gynaecoclogical Clinical Trials Group. She was a board member of the European Cervical Cancer Association (ECCA) for five as was elected President of the ECCA in August, 2008. She was also chair of the Cervical Cancer Initiative (CCI) through 2007 & 2008. Pamela is now a cervical cancer advocate, supporting the work of “Women Against Cervical Cancer” (WACC).
