LAGO was established in 1993 on the initiative of the Brandenburg Ministry of Labor, Social Affairs, Health and Family Affairs and is a certified charity. Its mission is to ensure continuous improvement in cancer care and treatment in its federal state. LAGO offers institutions and professional groups, self help organizations and volunteers in cancer care a forum to exchange experiences and form cooperations.

2010 WACC Award proposal

Deutscher Akademikerinnenbund (DAB) is the association of university women in Germany. It has 800 members, among these a group of young members who have built up a rather effective network. The purpose of the DAB organization which was founded in 1926 is to support women in their career and the critical evaluation of tendencies influencing the role of women in society. There are several working groups in DAB, one of them deals with gender medicine. The DAB is a member of the European network UWE (University Women of Europe) and of IFUW (International Fellowship of University Women).
