The Medical Women’s International Association (MWIA) is an international non-governmental organization (NGO) representing women doctors from all five continents. The association was founded in 1919 and is therefore one of the oldest professional bodies at the international level. It is non-political, non-sectarian and non-profit making. At the time when MWIA was founded, women doctors were a curiosity, and there was a need for a forum to discuss common concerns. Women physicians being the minority is no more, as women constitute at least 50% of many medical schools. As women become the majority of practicing physicians, a new set of concerns will emerge.

"The most powerful statement we could say about HPV right now is that unlike most cancers, cervical cancer is detectable and preventable before it turns into full-blown cancer."

The HPV Awareness Corporation is a national non-profit organisation. Its mission is to raise awareness through education, by informing youth and their parents of the risks and prevention of HPVs and their complications. The solution is to help people understand the implications of HPV, so that they become pro-active in protecting themselves from contracting HPV.

Its vision is that future generations will be protected from contracting HPVs that lead to cervical cancer as well as many other cancers later in life. "Our objective is to ensure the sustainability of our projects. The success of our mission will be reliant on the support of both government and community involvement. Our corporation keeps abreast of the medical advances related to HPV and cervical cancer."
